I've been a freelance sound recordist in New York since 1985. I specialize in documentary sound but also record commercials, features, broadcast, corporate and music productions. I have complete sound packages for single or double system location recording. I use Schoeps microphones and the Sound Devices 744T hard drive recorder but I know that in documentary, it's not so much about the gear; it's about sensitivity and awareness. It's also a team sport and I'm a top player. Good location sound saves oodles of cash in Post and I go beyond "good" for your project. I am a member of the Cinema Audio Society, CAS.
My resume page is the most useful destination on my site. It includes air dates for my most recent work. In an effort to inform and amuse, I 've posted Photos from productions past. What's News contains sporadic diary entries about what I've been working on lately and where I've been. For friends and family, pictures of the kids, house and my wife, Nora's CSA Garden. See Stonesthrowgarden.com for more about the garden.
Please drop me a note and let me know you were here. I often wonder who's out there.
