Greetings from aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk somewhere in the South Pacific (actually quite near Hawaii). For 10 days in May, 1996, I was on the Discovery Channel Documentary: Fleet Command: Showdown in the Pacific. Our team, Director/Camera, Jim Lipscomb and A.C., Harry Menna spent a week on this ship and a week on the U.S.S. Independence. One of six crews under the command of Producer Carl Kriegeskotte, we were the only team to make a tailhook landing on a carrier. We made two. Talk about perks.
